Audi Q8
Book Test DriveThe Audi Q8 combines the elegance of a four-door luxury coupé with the practical versatility of a large SUV. Richly equipped, comprehensively connected and tough enough for off-road duty, it is a confident companion for business and leisure. Expressive design with the Singleframe grille and features from the original Audi quattro. Generous, elegant interior, touch operating concept and high-tech navigation: The Audi Q8 is a confident companion for business and leisure.
New presence for the Q family: the exterior design
With the imposing Singleframe grille in octagonal design, the Audi Q8 is the face of the Q family. The brawny radiator grille stands upright and, together with the spoiler that has been drawn toward the front and the large, highly contoured air inlets, emphasizes the self-confident look. The elegantly sloping roofline terminates in gently inclined D-pillars and rests against the quattro blisters above the wheel arches, which house up to 22-inch wheels. A light strip connects the units at the rear.
Sporty driving experience: driving dynamics and motor
The purely mechanical center differential transfers the forces to the front axle and rear axle at a ratio of 40:60 as standard. When required, it transfers the majority to the axle with the better traction.Besides the standard progressive steering, whose steering ratio becomes increasingly direct the further the steering wheel is turned, Audi also offers the option of all-wheel steering. It can turn the rear wheels as much as 5 degrees – counter to the direction of the turn at low speeds to increase agility and at higher speeds in the direction of the turn for better stability. All drive systems are particularly efficient thanks to the new mild hybrid technology (MHEV).
Contour light
In the dark, the optional contour light traces the distinctive design lines of the interior and provides backlight for the three dimensionally lasered quattro badge above the glove compartment – an example for the love of detail at Audi

Thrills at the push of a button: The engine
Follow your impulses: thanks to the unparalleled simplicity of the Audi RS Q8². The 4.0-litre V8 TFSI engine (Fuel consumption combined¹: 12.1 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined¹: 277–276 g/km) with 441 kW (600 hp) and maximum torque of 800 Nm combines with the quattro permanent all-wheel drive and the 8-speed automatic tiptronic to deliver pure dynamism. It will catapult you from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The mild-hybrid system and cylinder on demand technology, which deactivates four cylinders at part load with low and medium engine speeds, can help save fuel.
Immense power, transferred intelligently onto the road
The Audi RS Q8² offers you quattro permanent all-wheel drive with optional quattro sport differential that distributes the power selectively for each wheel. The adaptive air suspension sport with characteristic RS tuning and the all-wheel steering for agile responsiveness and superb handling stability add that extra touch. The optional electromechanical roll stabilisation further enhances the driving dynamics, especially when cornering. Simply click the RS mode button on the steering wheel to modify the vehicle characteristics intuitively with Audi drive select. There is also the option to increase the top speed from 250 to 305 km/h³.
Powerful and dynamic: The design
RS-specific elements, such as the diffuser insert in gloss black with horizontal bar in carbon, hallmark RS oval tailpipes and the RS roof edge spoiler, underline the performance of the Audi RS Q8². The extended wheel arches and visibly all-round RS sill in body colour underscore the powerful stance of the Audi RS Q8¹. The sporty, dynamic design of the RS bumper with radiator protective grille in honeycomb structure and the large air inlets in gloss black add impressive highlights to the front view, as do the front spoiler and the Singleframe mask in carbon.
